Within Class Mulberry we have nine pupils Staff in the classroom include- Andrea (Class Teacher), and Teaching Assistants: Fraser, Courtney, Nick, Ross. Class Mulberry follow the Foundations and Tiptoes Pathways. Our topics in Autumn term are: “This is me” and “Let’s celebrate”.
Pupils engage in Sensory Circuit activities at least twice a day, in the beginning of the morning and afternoon. Regular and frequent movement breaks are implemented in our classroom routine and learning activities. Children engage in daily Finger Gym exercises, developing their fine motor skills, as well as concentration building activities- Attention Autism sessions. They are followed by English (Pre-Reading, Writing and Phonics activities) and Maths lessons. In the afternoons we focus on foundation subjects: RE, PSHE, Geography, History, Music, Art, DT, PE and Computers.
Children have daily access to the Immersive Classroom, Sensory Rooms as well as the Adventure Playground with climbing equipment, Millennium Garden and the swing and trampoline on the yard.
Pupils work within small pathway groups and they are provided with 1:1 work opportunities throughout the day.
