Outdoor Learning

At Knowsley Central we value the importance of learning in our local community and endeavour to give our children as many opportunities as possible to experience different activities within the school community and beyond.

We have recently been lucky enough to purchase three outdoor trampolines, one of which will be used specifically for Rebound Therapy.

We also have access to an outdoor climbing frame and garden space within our school grounds where the children can plant seeds, care for them and watch them grow.

At Knowsley Central our children have the opportunity to visit a number of places in and around our community. We have weekly sessions at a local soft play centre, swimming pool, bike ability hub, sport centre, therapy pool and sensory hive.

Children also participate in a number of Educational visits linked to their curriculum theme, such as visits to a nearby synagogue, cathedral, zoo, safari park, Museum, food banks, supermarkets and drama productions. They also have opportunities to develop their independence and life skills by visiting local shops to buy ingredients for cookery sessions back in school.
