Elm
Welcome to Class Elm
In Class Elm, there are seven children with three members of staff, Holly (Class Teacher) Macey and an additional TA. Class Elm follow two curriculum pathways: Pre-Foundations and Foundations. Our learning is guided by the children’s interests, individual needs, and a variety of topics that change each half term. Our core focus areas include Communication and Language, Sensory Integration, forming positive relationships, and developing play skills.
To support these areas, we engage in a range of targeted interventions such as Attention Autism, Sensory Circle Time, Intensive Interaction, and Sensory Circuit. Each day, we also visit our sensory and immersive rooms—calm and stimulating environments where children can explore, engage, and relax.
Outdoor learning is an important part of our daily routine, providing opportunities for physical activity and exploration. We also have a weekly PE session in the school hall, which helps support physical development and overall wellbeing. Additionally, we take weekly trips to the school library, encouraging a love of books and the development of early reading skills.
