(Please click the arrows below the curriculum to see the different terms ->)
Within Class Hazel we have ten pupils and four adults- Eliza (Class Teacher), and Teaching Assistants: Pam, Jake, Natasha. All learners in Class Hazel follow Foundations Pathway and Engagement Model. Our topics in Autumn term are: `This is Me` and `Let`s celebrate`.
Teaching and learning in Class Hazel is highly personalised and takes place in small groups, and on a 1:1 basis. Curriculum is crafted in a way to promote independent exploration of the activities and learning environment by the pupils. Multisensory learning tasks like Sensology or tuff-tray activities, are linked to current topics. Pupils can independently access Sensory Circuit and Quiet Room at all times during the day. These specialist spaces are located within the classroom complex. Class Hazel also have own playground with climbing equipment and swing. It is located next to the Millennium Garden which plays the role of the sensory garden. Movement breaks in both intervention areas are implemented in pupils` learning throughout the day, to provide them with sensory input necessary to self-regulate and learn. Pupils are modelled and supported to develop their social skills while interacting and playing with peers and adults.
