Support Groups for Parents

Have you ever wondered what support you can receive from you local community? The attached document highlights local groups and organisations that can cater for a wide range of special needs and provide support and guidance for parents.

Support Groups for Parents

Share is a parents group which meets each Monday at 9:30 am. This group works alongside the specialist teaching assistant Vicky Brown to help parents play an active role in their child’s education. Share provides the opportunity for parents to come and discuss their child with others who understand what it is like to have a child with special educational needs. This group also takes an active role in sharing how parents can be supported in their local community, acting to signpost to other groups and organisations that they might want to be part of.

Share also:

  • helps to support parents in the home,
  • Shares good practise amongst the parents
  • offers  training on areas such supporting ASC in the home, behaviour management, home literacy and numeracy and ICT.

Overall Share is an excellent opportunity to get together and chat about the people who are most important in our lives our children.
