What does our school council do? Our school council does a number of things:
The school council meets with a teacher present, sometimes to discuss and sort out problems. We love to fund raise and be good citizens and help our local and global community. Some of the things we talk about include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events.
Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning a “Design A T-shirt” competition to raise funds, planning our school buddy system and how we can mentor children who need our help. What makes our school council good?
Our school council represents the views of all pupils and we do our best to get things done.
Here are some things that we think makes our school council effective:
- Regular meetings ‘Every Monday’
- A council that is not too big o Good communication
- A budget from our governors
- Training our school council members
- Annual evaluation meeting with governors and staff to see what we have achieved for the pupils in our school
