Class Rowan and Redwood had a brilliant afternoon with Imaan Abu Usamah at the Al Rahma Masjid mosque in Toxteth. The pupils loved the warm welcome and learnt lots about the mosque and Islam to consolidate their learning at school.
Classes Redwood and Rowan had a brilliant trip to Knowsley Safari park to focus on African animals. We also had an amazing classroom session run by one of the excellent team members who taught the pupils loads of amazing facts about the animals.
Class Redwood and Rowan had a brilliant trip to Huyton library to discover how to find the type of books that they enjoy reading. Lots of the pupils now want to join up so they can go in their own time.
Class Redwood had a great Remembrance Day learning about lots of information about the history of the day, Poppies, poetry and how to make ANZAC biscuits that were made by the wives of soldiers from the Australian and New Zealand armies.
Class Redwood are enjoying reading “The boy at the back of the class” this term, which is all about a Syrian refugee. This week we read that the main character Ahmet used to eat Pomegranates in Syria so we brought one into class and used our senses to describe the touch, taste, look and smell.
After making the bases and boxes, Class Redwood learned about instructional writing in English by writing the recipe, before designing their pizza box logos in Art and making their own pizzas in Cooking.
